Description
Mobile jocks and small-venue engineers both run into the same problem: rigs that sound big but weigh a ton, or lightweight boxes that run out of headroom the second the room fills up. The ZLX-12P pair splits that difference. Each cabinet weighs in at 34.3 lbs / 15.6 kg, so hauling two speakers plus stands out of a hatchback isn’t a workout, yet Electro-Voice still packs in a 1000W Class D amp module, a 12″ woofer, and a 1.5″ titanium compression driver capable of 126 dB max SPL.
That output-to-weight ratio matters whether you’re setting up front-of-house for a corporate gig, running monitors on a club stage, or covering a wedding reception solo. Wide 90° x 60° coverage keeps the room evenly covered without needing extra boxes, and the frequency range of 50 Hz – 20 kHz gives you real low-end presence from a compact 2-way design — no separate sub required for smaller rooms.
Hookup is straightforward for mobile setups: combo XLR/TRS inputs handle mixer or wireless feeds, a 3.5mm input lets you plug straight in from a laptop or phone for backup music, and the XLR link output makes daisy-chaining the second cabinet simple. The polypropylene enclosure shrugs off van transport and repeated load-in/load-out better than wood cabinets, while the 18-gauge steel grille with black powder coat protects the drivers from stage traffic.
