Sitting in EV’s lineup above the ZLX/ELX series and below the flagship ETX range, this passive 18-inch subwoofer is engineered for DJs who move between mobile gigs and semi-permanent club installs without compromising on punch.
Inside a lightweight 15mm braced plywood enclosure finished in durable EVCoat, the EKX-18S houses EV’s own EVS-18C 18″ low-frequency transducer, capable of pushing 400W continuous / 1600W peak power and hitting up to 134 dB peak SPL. Large slot ports keep distortion low while extending bass response, and two metal grille reinforcement bars protect the driver during load-in, transport, and heavy use on the road.
Practical touches make it road-crew friendly: dual NL4 connectors for flexible cabling, an M20 threaded pole mount for pairing with full-range tops, and all-metal handles for hauling between the van and the booth.
