Description
When your gig calls for club-level bass without club-size gear, the ZXA1-Sub steps in. Built to pair with EV’s ZXA1 tops, this 12-inch powered subwoofer stretches that system’s already impressive output down into true low-end territory, so your mids and highs stay clean while the sub handles the thump. It’s equally at home anchoring a DJ setup on a tight stage or filling out a live band’s low frequencies where floor space is limited.
Inside the low-profile 9-ply/15mm wood enclosure sits a 700-watt Class-D amplifier driving EV’s own EVS-12S woofer, capable of pushing 126 dB max SPL. A 100 Hz crossover keeps the handoff to your tops seamless, and dual XLR stereo ins/outs make daisy-chaining or running a full-range system straightforward. A pole mount lets you stack a full-range top right on top for a compact point-source rig.
At 46 pounds with a built-in carry handle, it’s manageable for one person to load in and out — a real consideration for mobile DJs and touring engineers who don’t have a crew. The internally braced cabinet with textured paint and a 16GA steel grille is built to survive the van-to-stage-to-van cycle night after night.
