Description
Don’t let the compact cabinet fool you: the Electro-Voice SB122 was built to deliver serious low-frequency output without the bulk that usually comes with it. At just 33 lb (15 kg), this passive 12-inch sub is easy to load, easy to carry, and easy to stack into any DJ or mobile rig — yet it handles 400 watts continuous (1600W peak) through its cast-frame EVS12SB long-excursion woofer, so it doesn’t sacrifice punch for portability.
The trapezoidal composite enclosure is tough enough for weekly gigs, with an integral handle for one-hand hauling and a top-mount pole socket for pairing with an EV Zx1 or similar top box. A large tuning vent boosts low-frequency extension, while the built-in low-pass filter lets you run multiple SB122 units in parallel off a single amp channel — handy when you’re scaling up for a bigger room without adding more amplification.
Dual Neutrik Speakon connectors give you a reliable, road-tested input path, and the internal crossover keeps setup straightforward whether you’re flying it (optional hardware) above a dance floor or dropping it on a stand for a wedding or corporate gig.
