Description
The Dark Matter DM 115 gives DJs and mobile performers a powered rig that adapts to the gig, not the other way around. Set it on the floor as a monitor, hoist it on a 1 3/8″ pole for FOH duty, or park it in the booth — the trapezoidal, injection-molded cabinet and angled rear corners handle it all without extra hardware.
Inside, a 15″ woofer rated at 410 watts peak teams up with a DX14 compression driver (1.4″ titanium diaphragm) pushing 250 watts peak, both driven by a bi-amplified analog power section. Peavey’s Quadratic Throat Waveguide shapes a wide 110° x 80° coverage pattern, so sound stays even from the front row to the back of the dance floor.
The real workflow win is the onboard 64-bit DSP. A front-panel LCD and selector knob let you dial in bass/treble, flip through factory EQ presets tuned for different room and mounting scenarios, or save your own custom settings for recall at the next show — handy if you’re bouncing between venues with different acoustics. A dynamic bass boost function adds extra low-end punch when you need it. Signal I/O runs at 96kHz/24-bit for clean, low-jitter processing.
Hookup is straightforward: a combo XLR/TRS input with a Mic/Line switch for gain flexibility, plus an XLR thru output for linking additional cabinets. A cooling fan keeps things stable through long sets, while the powder-coated steel grille shrugs off the wear and tear of load-in, load-out, and everything in between.
